Christiana Bohorquez was born an raised on the Dutch Caribbean island, Curaçao and grew up with her two younger sisters. Her dad played the guitar and bass which is where she was introduced to the world of music.
She played Gretl in the Sound of Music production of 1996 and sang in church during her teens.
Christiana also discovered a love for horses and passion for the sport.
In 2008 she entered her Freshman year at the University of the Dutch Caribbean, majoring in IT.
In February 2009 she decided to take on a new adventure and crossed the Atlantic solo with €300 euro’s, a suitcase and her dad’s guitar.
But instead of going to TU Delft for IT as planned, she auditioned for Codarts (Music Conservatory of Rotterdam). She opened her own music school Popschool Jam-it! in 2010 and continued to design websites as well.
In her Sophmore year her teacher signed her up for The Voice of Holland. All 4 chairs turned during the blind audition and she won the Battle round.
Christiana was catapulted into a life of performing and recording. She released her first EP in 2012 “Simple Me”, produced by Oscar Bor and Grammy Award winner, Tony Black.
She graduated as a Creative Producer in 2013 and appeared on various TV shows such as De Wereld Draait Door and De Verandering. She guest starred on tour with Marco Borsato and also appeared on De Beste Singer Songwriter in 2015 and did back-up vocals for artists such as Nick en Simon, The Voice of Holland Season 3, and on Life4You and Koffietijd.
She was invited to sing lead vocals on 5 consecutive life@opwekking Albums.
In 2014 her life took an unexpected turn and Christiana ended up on the race track where she laid low in the music scene for a couple of years and obtained her license to race. She won her second race and got to compete in the Female World Cup sponsored by Sheika Fatima Bint Mubarak. After riding in the Netherlands, Germany, England and Scotland, Christiana quit horsin’ around, bought her favorite race horse and started to think about making music again.
During her horse racing days she built Jam-it! Studios, which now houses Popschool Jam-it!, and also founded Jam-Camp! (Summercamp with music & horses).
She did 3 tracks on the EO’s Christmas Album “Waarom Kerst”, and in 2018 former G-Time host, Filemon Peroti, invited her, along with a selection of Christian artists and songwriters to join ADEM Project.
Christiana and William Wixley had the lead on their first release and title song “Adem”, which was soon followed by ADEM’s first English release featuring Montell Jordan, “No Limit”.
ADEM Project has released multiple tracks in the following years and will be releasing their debut album in 2022.
As for Christiana, her new tracks are in the production process with Priscila Wilson and Tim Abma.
